While the rumor mill churned with Bryan Cranston along with other older, balder actors, it looks for example Zack Snyder and co. have thrown a significant curve ball to fans when it comes to Lex Luthor, the long-expected villain of "Batman Vs. Superman": he's going to be a lot younger than you concept.

Warner Bros. has announced now that Jesse Eisenberg will play Lex Luthor in the upcoming "Man Of Steel" sequel, with Jeremy Irons too on board in the role of Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred. The news comes out of left field, with nobody predicting this turn of events, even though we need to say it's pretty welcome. It is usually intriguing to see how Superman deals with a adversary who's actually his own age (Henry Cavill and Jesse Eisenberg are each 30), and it can be a fairly nice strategy to tweak the canon. (Also: Eisenberg can play an excellent asshole.)

Now add towards the mix an "older and wiser" Batman grappling having a young upstart superhero and baddie too, and it opens the door to some intriguing character opportunities. Essentially, it really is a good shorthand to show how much issues could possibly have changed from older Batman's day towards the what he's seeing right now at the younger superhero and villain. It's potentially intriguing stuff.

That getting said, we had high hopes for "Man Of Steel" in terms of character and story, only for it to become a slugfest and disaster epic, so as normally, proceed with caution. But we certainly which include the ambition, and it really is the kind of depth we do not find at the Marvel machine of movies.
